All schools have to prepare a very detailed report of the Highly Qualified status of their instructional staff and aides. SIMPL™ helps with that by providing an on-line template of the report form for local administrators to use, greatly simplifying the process. Using this form allows SIMPL™ to aggregate the table from each school to automatically produce the district roll-up of this information. All SIMPL ™ users get this capability as part of the basic package.
SIMPL’s™ optional Highly Qualified Module uses a special staff survey tool that allows the HQ information to be gathered on-line. Teachers/aides simply navigate to the survey, and answer a few questions necessary for us to know how to select the proper sequence of questions for this teacher/aide. That’s not a trivial thing. HQ status is a function of
- formal education/degrees acquired,
- current assignment
- subject(s),
- assigned grade level,
- Standard vs. Special education, etc.
SIMPL™ HQ Module logs the data from each staff respondent into a local database for that school and builds the HQ report automatically. The SIMPL™ HQ Module will even give you an on-line report of which staff have taken the survey and which have not.
As school administrators know, determining the HQ status of a person can get involved. Teachers are not required to finish the process in one sitting. They can come back later and resume from where they last left off. If they are not HQ, SIMPL™ will tell them what they must do to become HQ.
Finally, SIMPL™ knows how to add all schools into a single district level report even when some schools in the district use the survey method and others use the manual method to fill out the school report.
The following is an example of the HQ report format.
